What Are You Reading Wednesday

What Are You Reading Wednesday is hosted by It’s A Reading Thing. #WAYRW

What’s the name of your current read?

Hey! It’s Kaitlin posting! I am currently reading The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken.

Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.

“Her chin came down to rest against her chest. Long, tangled masses of hair fell over her shoulders and cheeks, hiding her expression. I felt it then – the way that the hold I had on her had suddenly sprung free. I had the strangest sensation of floating, of drifting farther and farther away with nothing and no one to cling to. I was standing right beside her, but the distance between us had split into the kind of canyon I could’t jump across.”

Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

No, I would not like to live in the world of The Darkest Minds! What with the rehabilitation camp, PSFs, and really, just all the crazy, sadistic people, it does not seem like a pleasant place…

Bookish News!

This week in the book world Sarah J. Maas revealed the title of her newest book. It will be the 5th book in the wonderful Throne of Glass series. I am sooooo excited!

The Empire of Storms comes out September 6th, 2016! The Throne of Glass coloring book also releases the same day.

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don’t.

As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

Aelin’s journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?

“…these lonely survivors on this ghost of a world… We see them as they cannot, will not, see each other  – we see his heart in the way he looks at her; we see her soul calling out for his every touch. It would be so easy if they could only see inside each other as we can.

And yet, there is a beauty in the way they find each other: slowly, in a fragile dance of sidelong glances and accidental touches. To see them come together, souls binding without knowing each other as we do, without being certain of what the other’s heart holds, is to learn something new… Faith.”

Waiting on Wednesday

hoted by Breaking the Spine

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard came out a few weeks ago! I’m so excited to read it. I’m absolutely in love with Red Queen and Cruel Crown. Glass Sword is definitely going to be one of the next books I read. -Kelly

Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.

The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.

Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.

But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.

Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?
